Participative research and evaluation

I have experience and expertise in qualitative research. Much of this is in peer research—enabling wider stories and experience to be captured by people closest to those whose views we want to hear.

I create open and highly exploratory environments and using a strengths-based approach, harness energy and engagement.

My reports are presented in engaging highly visual formats.

In 2018/19 I held the post of interim Community Engagement Manager for the Greater London Authority—enabling Londoners to participate more fully in the decisions, which shape their civic lives.

Examples of current or past projects:

  • Peer research into maternity services in the West Midlands (on behalf of The Ideas Alliance)

  • Facilitating Tower Hamlets to shift their community grants budget to both commissioned and co produced—Tower Hamlets Council

  • Qualitative evaluation of community building programme in Helmand, Afghanistan—Department for International Development.
